Rewards Program Terms
The rules for Specials Nite Rewards at venues that offer Rewards.
Last updated:
1. The operator
Specials Nite Rewards ("Rewards", "the program") is operated by Grow Unlimited Pty Ltd, ABN 34 618 591 281, P.O. Box 4134, Hoppers Crossing VIC 3029, Australia ("we", "us"). Contact: marketing@specialsnite.com. These terms apply together with our Terms of Use; where they cover the same topic, these terms prevail.
2. Eligibility and accounts
In these terms, "venues with Rewards switched on" means venues that have Rewards switched on in My Venue and that we have not excluded or suspended.
We may exclude or suspend Rewards at any venue at any time, including for suspected misuse or where we cannot support its currency.
- You must be 18 or over. The app asks you to confirm your age, and you must confirm it before you redeem a perk or use a referral code.
- You need a Specials Nite account. Creating an account is free, and no purchase is ever required to join Rewards.
- One rewards account per person. We may close duplicate accounts and reverse points earned through them.
- Rewards is available at Specials Nite venues with Rewards switched on. Whether Rewards is offered at all may vary by country and region.
- Venue owners and staff must not record visits for themselves, or earn or redeem points at a venue they own or work at.
3. How points are earned
You earn points when venue staff record a visit with your 9-digit rewards code, either by scanning the QR code on the My QR tab (the QR simply encodes that code) or by typing the code shown under it, and then entering your food total. Visits can only be recorded by venue staff with a valid staff PIN.
Your rewards code
- Permanent. You get your code when you join. It does not change or expire unless you replace it, so a saved or printed copy keeps working.
- Never reused. Every code is issued once. A code that has been replaced is retired for good and is never given to anyone else.
- Replace it on request. If you think someone else has your code, tap Get a new code on the My QR tab. Your old code stops working straight away. You can replace your code once every 30 days (contact us if you need help sooner).
- Staff confirm it is you. When staff scan or type your code, the scanner shows only your first name and last initial. Staff check it matches you before they record the visit. Keep your code to yourself.
What counts
- Food and non-alcoholic drinks only. Staff enter a food total that excludes alcohol. No points are earned on alcohol.
- Currency. The venue records the food total in its local currency. Points earned per unit and per-visit caps are set per currency using daily exchange rates (from the European Central Bank, with open.er-api.com as fallback, and manual adjustment when those sources are unavailable). For example: 1 point per A$1 at Australian venues (cap A$150 per visit). Approximate examples for other currencies (rates vary daily): USA ~1.42 points per US$1, cap ~US$105; UK ~1.89 points per £1, cap ~£80; Japan ~0.009 points per ¥1, cap ~¥16,600. Points are rounded down to whole points.
- Per-day cap. At most 2 counted visits per day across all venues with Rewards switched on that we have not excluded, at least 3 hours apart. A day is the venue's local calendar day.
- Pending for 48 hours. Points stay pending for 48 hours after a visit. During that time the venue can void the visit with a reason (for example if it was recorded by mistake); we email you the reason if we have your email address. Pending points then confirm automatically.
Bonus points
- Repeat visit: 25 points for your second visit to the same venue within 30 days.
- 5th visit: 50 points, once per venue, when you have 5 confirmed visits to the same venue within 90 days.
- 4 weeks in a row: 100 points, once per account, when you have confirmed visits in 4 consecutive weeks.
- Creator Code: if you joined with a Creator Code, see section 9.
Points are calculated on the total the venue enters. If you think a total was entered wrongly, tell the venue or contact us.
4. Tiers
Your tier is based on status points: confirmed visit points and visit bonus points earned in the last 12 months. Referral points, Creator Code points and legacy app points do not count.
- Member: 0 to 299 status points
- Regular: 300 to 999 status points
- Local: 1,000 to 2,999 status points
- Legend: 3,000 or more status points
Tiers are recalculated regularly, so your tier can go down as older points pass 12 months. A venue can set a minimum tier for a perk.
5. Perks and redemption
- Venues choose and fund perks. Each venue with Rewards switched on that we have not excluded decides whether to offer perks, what they are, how many points they cost, any minimum tier and any daily limit, and pays for supplying them.
- No alcohol. Perks never include alcohol. Venues must confirm this for every perk.
- Redemption. To redeem you need enough confirmed points, the perk's minimum tier and a confirmed age. You receive a one-time redemption code that is valid for 10 minutes. Your points are deducted only when venue staff confirm the code; a code that is not confirmed in time expires and no points are deducted.
- The venue supplies the perk. Perks are subject to the venue's availability and limits. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law against the venue are not affected.
6. Points have no cash value
Points have no cash value. They cannot be bought, sold, transferred to another person or exchanged for cash, and can only be redeemed for perks offered by venues with Rewards switched on that we have not excluded.
7. Expiry
Points expire after 12 months of inactivity. If you have no verified purchase visits for 12 consecutive months, all your points expire. We email a warning 30 days before expiry. A purchase visit in that 30 days resets the clock. Only verified purchase visits count; visits with zero food total do not reset the expiry clock.
This expiry policy takes effect from 26 October 2026.
8. Friend referrals
You can share your personal referral link or code with friends. Points are awarded only after your friend has both signed up and had their first visit confirmed at a venue with Rewards switched on that we have not excluded. Then:
- you receive 100 points, and your friend receives 100 points (both pending for 48 hours).
No purchase required. Referral points are never tied to buying, paying or subscribing, and nothing is awarded for sign-up alone.
Limits
- 5 successful referrals per calendar month. Once you reach 5 in a month, your code cannot be used by new friends until the next month. If your 5 are already used when a friend's first visit is confirmed, no referral points are awarded for that friend (to you or to them).
- 18+ only. You and your friend must both have confirmed you are 18 or over before the code is used.
- Each account can use only one referral or Creator Code, and you cannot use your own code.
- We never email or message your friends. You share your own link.
- Signs of a duplicate account (such as a shared email identity) hold the referral for review by our team.
We may suspend referral privileges or reverse points earned by fraud, self-referral or duplicate accounts.
9. Creator Codes and bounties
Approved creators may receive a personal Creator Code or link. The scheme is single-level only: a creator earns from people who join with their code, never from people those people refer. One Creator Code can be attached to an account, and the first one used stays attached.
If you join with a Creator Code
- You receive double base points on your first 5 confirmed visits within 30 days of using the code, up to 300 bonus points in total.
What creators earn
- Sign-up bounty: currently 500 points when a Patron who signed up with the code has their first visit confirmed, or when a venue that signed up with the code makes its first paid order. At most 50 bounties are paid to a creator in a month; any others wait for a later month.
- First-visit bonus: 50 points when a person who used the code has their first visit confirmed.
- 90-day creator share: 10% of the confirmed base visit points of each person who used the code (rounded down), for 90 days from when they used it, up to 200 points per person. First-visit bonuses and creator shares together are subject to a monthly cap (currently 5,000 points per creator).
- No double payment: if a creator receives (or is due) a sign-up bounty for a Patron, the creator does not also receive the 90-day creator share for that Patron.
- Creator rewards are points, not cash. Joining Specials Nite is free and no purchase is ever required.
- Creators must not earn points for sign-ups or visits at a venue they own, work at or are paid by.
- Disclosure: creators must clearly disclose at the start of every post that they receive points (using the platform's paid-partnership tools and "#ad"), must disclose any meal or item gifted by a venue, cannot earn anything for reviews and must not review on Specials Nite any venue that has given them anything.
- Alcohol: creators must be 25 or over if any alcohol appears in their content, must apply the platform's 18+ audience restriction, and content must not encourage excessive or rapid drinking.
Bounties are paid only on proof (a confirmed visit or a paid order). Self-referrals are rejected, and possible duplicate accounts are held for review by our team. We may withdraw codes and reverse points for self-referral, fake accounts, undisclosed promotion or breach of these terms.
10. Fraud and misuse
Our systems automatically flag unusual activity for review by our team, for example:
- the same staff member recording more than 8 visits for the same Patron in 30 days
- a new account earning more than 500 visit points in its first week
- referrals or Creator Code sign-ups that share a device or email identity with another account
A person on our team reviews flags before we reverse confirmed points or suspend an account. If we void a visit, reverse points or suspend your account, we will tell you why and you can ask us to review it.
PIN and code limits
- Staff PIN: 5 failed PIN attempts for a venue, or from one location, lock PIN entry for 15 minutes.
- Rewards codes (scanned or typed) can only be checked after a valid staff PIN. A code that is not in the right format (not 9 digits, or with a wrong check digit) is rejected with a request to check the code. A well-formed code that does not match an active account counts as a failed attempt under the same limit as the PIN.
We may reverse points earned by fraud, error or collusion (including entering false totals) and suspend rewards for accounts involved.
11. Venue participation
- Rewards is currently included with every claimed listing at no extra cost. We may change this, including by introducing fees, on at least 30 days' notice to venues. Rewards switches on when a venue claims its listing. A venue can switch Rewards off (and back on) in My Venue at any time. While it is off, you cannot earn points there.
- Venues set their own perks, points costs, minimum tiers and daily limits, and give their staff their own PINs.
- Venues are responsible for supplying perks and for recording food totals correctly (food and non-alcoholic drinks only).
12. Changes and ending the program
We may change, suspend or end Rewards, in whole or at any venue, on reasonable notice (or immediately for fraud, legal or security reasons).
We may change these terms or how Rewards works. For changes that materially affect you (including introducing expiry or ending the program), we will give at least 30 days' notice by email (if we have your email address) and on this page. We honour existing balances for at least 90 days after any change that reduces their value, including ending the program. The date at the top of this page shows when these terms last changed.
13. Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where a venue supplies a perk, your rights against that venue are not affected.
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information.
What we collect for Rewards: each visit recorded (venue, date and time, the staff member who recorded it, the food total and currency, and any receipt reference), points earned and redeemed, referral and Creator Codes used, and fraud-prevention signals (a hashed identifier made from your network address and browser, and, if the scanner shares its location, its distance from the venue).
What venues see: when staff scan you, the venue sees your first name and last initial, your tier and the perks you can use there. Venues also see counts of visits, Patrons and redemptions at their venue. Venues do not get your email address, phone number or your activity at other venues.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
